Literature, art, and emotional education that transform the classroom
SCHOOL VISITS
Each visit from Mundo Ozana turns a story into a conversation, and a conversation into a lifelong learning experience for students.
Our educational program reaches public schools, private colleges, libraries, and municipalities throughout Puerto Rico with an approach that combines children's literature, theater, and participatory experiences to strengthen children's social-emotional competencies.
Why schools invite us
Educational institutions today face challenges that go far beyond academic performance. Among the most frequently identified needs are:
- Difficulty recognizing and expressing emotions
- Frequent conflicts between peers
- Cases of bullying, exclusion, and rejection due to differences
- Little interest in reading as a meaningful activity
- Need to strengthen school coexistence
We believe these challenges are best addressed through experiences that connect with children in a close, sensitive, and participatory way.
What a visit includes
Read-alouds with the author
Wanda San Miguel leads the reading and transforms it into a living experience, where students engage in dialogue, ask questions, and reflect on their feelings.
Social-emotional workshops
Adapted by age, these reinforce emotional identification, empathy, respectful communication, inclusion, peaceful conflict resolution, teamwork, and self-esteem.
Artistic experiences
The visit can be supplemented with original music, theatrical dynamics, and participatory activities that strengthen learning through art.
Institutional book purchase
Schools can acquire Ozana y sus Emociones (Ozana and her Emotions) and Ozana y su GRAN amigo Luis (Ozana and her BIG friend Luis) to integrate them into the curriculum, library, or year's reading plan.
Our books, our tools
Ozana y sus Emociones (Ozana and her Emotions)
Helps children identify, understand, and express what they feel in a healthy way, promoting emotional self-regulation and respectful communication.
Ozana y su GRAN amigo Luis (Ozana and her BIG friend Luis)
Inspired by the story of a child with dwarfism, it invites readers to discover that true greatness does not depend on physical appearance, but on the ability to include, respect, and reach out to others.
